“Plans are underway to fund 114 projects and we are happy that the programme has empowered a lot of people from different backgrounds,” he said.
Mr Lupenga said this during a ZDA cocktail in Kitwe.
He said the CEEC is pleased that many Zambians have benefited from its activities and urged Zambians to continue showing confidence in
Government programmes.
Mr Lupenga said people must continue supporting Government in its quest to develop the country.
“We are also happy that 70 percent of the projects we have funded are for women and young people. It is good that entrepreneurs are now working hard and our next move is to ensure that we help them to manage success,” he said.
And speaking after a consortium of companies signed the MoU with the ZDA, Minister of Commerce Trade and Industry Felix Mutati said Government will always fulfill its promises to the people.
The companies which signed the MoU are Konkola Copper Mines, Mopani Copper Mines, Copperbelt Energy Corporation, Zambian Breweries and National Housing Authority.
Mr Mutati said Government is happy that SMEs will now be able to engage in business with reputable companies.
He said Government is committed to the development of SMEs and creating business opportunities for them.
